Coenen Brothers to Race AMA Pro Motocross Round

Lucas & Sacha Coenen new KTM contract announcement

Big news! Lucas and Sacha Coenen will race the Thunder Valley round of AMA Pro Motocross on June 13.

Over the last few years, rumors about the Coenen brothers racing in the USA have continued to surface time and time again.

Now, however, the news has been confirmed: the Belgian twins will line up at the Thunder Valley National. There were already rumors last summer that they could race a few Pro Motocross rounds, but those plans never materialized. This time it’s official, and at least for one round we’ll finally see both riders compete on American soil this summer. The MXGP of Latvia is scheduled for June 7, while the MXGP of Italy will take place on June 21.

Although Thunder Valley is currently the only confirmed Pro Motocross appearance for the Coenens, there is growing speculation that the brothers could race up to four rounds this season. More updates are expected later this week.

It is well known that Lucas and Sacha want to race full-time in the United States. The brothers themselves confirmed to Adam Wheeler that Red Bull KTM could support a future move to America. Could this be the first step toward a full-time AMA campaign? And could we see both riders permanently in the USA as early as 2027?

We will also see Antonio Cairoli return at some point aboard the Ducati Desmo450 MX for a couple of rounds, just as he did last summer. However, those appearances have not yet been officially confirmed.
