The Parque Villa-Lobos in São Paulo set the stage for the fourth and final round of the Brazilian Arena Cross series, where Dean Wilson secured the 2025 title in one of the most dramatic conclusions in recent memory.
Wilson entered the night with the red plate and a slim two-point advantage over home favorite Enzo Lopes. That margin was immediately cut to a single point after Lopes topped Superpole, adding even more pressure ahead of the two decisive main events.
In the first race, Lopes delighted the local crowd by taking the win and seizing the championship lead, while Wilson salvaged second after an early crash in the whoops. The showdown was set for the final moto.

The second race delivered pure chaos. Wilson and Lopes, locked in a championship battle, collided and both went down. They remounted, but Wilson’s problems weren’t over. Moments later, he hit a bike that crossed his line and suffered damage to his Honda CRF450R’s engine. With oil leaking, his mechanics signaled him to make a precautionary pit stop. The strategy proved decisive: Wilson returned to the track, held on for fifth place, and secured the title by the narrowest of margins of three points.
“What a crazy race! So many strange things happened, I had an oil leak and had to stop to finish, but I managed to get the bike to the finish line. I was very lucky, and the bike is really tough. I am very grateful to Honda Racing; we made it happen,” Wilson reflected after sealing the crown.
The night will be remembered not only for Wilson’s resilience but also for the sheer drama that defined the championship finale.
