Rubén Fernández will undergo surgery after the fall he suffered in the Turkish Grand Prix, which prevents him from competing in the MX of Nations and the rest of the season.

Francisco García, the newly crowned European champion, takes his place in the Spanish team, after having already defended the national colors in the last edition of the event.

The Spanish team that will compete in the 2026 MX of Nations, to be held on October 2, 3, and 4 at the Ernée circuit in France, will undergo a last-minute change due to Rubén Fernández’s injury. Following his crash at the Turkish Grand Prix, the Spanish rider will require surgery to treat his injuries, preventing him from representing Spain at one of the most important events of the season.

“Rubén’s injury is a real shame, especially the way it happened, with a fall that wasn’t his fault. But that’s the nature of the sport, and we have to accept it. Our first priority is to wish him all the best and a full recovery as soon as possible.”, said team manager Paco Rico.

«Now it’s Rubén’s turn to be replaced, and Francisco García is joining the team again, just like last year. He’s fully recovered from his injury, he’s incredibly motivated, and I’m sure he’ll give his all to help the Spanish team achieve our goals.»
