The field for the 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship Playoffs is officially set following the conclusion of the AMA Pro Motocross season at Ironman Raceway. Riders earned their positions through the combined points accumulated across AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross, which also determine the bonus points they will carry into the opening playoff round.
Introduced in 2023, SuperMotocross serves as the championship finale for the American season, featuring three rounds contested on hybrid tracks that combine elements of Supercross and Motocross. Riders can qualify by winning a Supercross Main Event, winning an overall in Pro Motocross, or finishing inside the top 20 of the combined season standings.
At the top of the 450SMX standings is Hunter Lawrence, who finished the year as AMA Supercross runner-up and AMA Pro Motocross champion. His consistency across both championships earned him the No. 1 seed and 25 bonus points heading into the playoffs.
Jorge Prado secured the second position after an impressive rookie campaign that included two Supercross podiums, four Pro Motocross podiums and a breakthrough overall victory at Ironman. The Spaniard accumulated 590 combined points and will begin the playoffs with 22 bonus points.
Haiden Deegan, despite not contesting a single 450SX round, the Yamaha rider’s strong Pro Motocross campaign was enough to place him seventh in the SMX standings, giving him 14 bonus points before the opening playoff event.
Meanwhile, AMA Supercross champion Ken Roczen finds himself lower in the order after skipping the entire Pro Motocross season. As a result, the German sits tenth in the final standings and will start the playoffs with 11 bonus points.
In the 250SMX division, the top qualifier is Cole Davies. The New Zealander enjoyed a remarkable season, capturing both the 250SX East Championship and the AMA Pro Motocross 250 title. His performances across the two series earned him the No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs, making him one of the favorites for the inaugural step toward a possible SMX crown.
The qualifying order plays a significant role in the championship, as riders receive bonus points based on their final ranking before the playoffs begin. The top-ranked rider starts with 25 points, second place receives 22, third place 20, and the scale continues down to the twentieth qualifier.

The SuperMotocross format features two motos per event, but with progressively larger points payouts throughout the playoffs. The second playoff doubles those values, awarding 50 points to the winner, while the championship finale triples them, with 75 points available for victory.
