France confirms lineup for the 2026 Motocross of Nations

The French squad will be aiming to reclaim the Chamberlain Trophy on home soil, just as they did in Ernée in both 2015 and 2023.

The French Motorcycle Federation has officially unveiled the riders who will represent the nation at the 79th edition of the Motocross of Nations, scheduled for October 3-4 at Ernée.

Seven-time winners of the prestigious event, France will field Romain Febvre (MXGP), Mathis Valin (MX2) and Tom Vialle (OPEN) as they chase another victory in front of their home crowd.

Febvre will lead the team in the MXGP class. The 2025 MXGP World Champion and Kawasaki Racing Team rider has been part of four winning French squads at the Motocross of Nations, making him one of the country’s most successful representatives in the event.

Joining him will be Tom Vialle in the OPEN class aboard his Honda HRC machine. Both Febvre and Vialle were members of the French team that claimed victory at Ernée in 2023, the nation’s most recent success in the competition.

Meanwhile, Mathis Valin is set to make his second Motocross of Nations appearance after helping France secure a podium finish in the United States last year. The Kawasaki Factory Racing rider recently returned to action following the back injury he sustained at the Portuguese Grand Prix and will now have an additional month to prepare for one of the biggest events on the motocross calendar.

Team France Motocross of Nations Wins
