Renaux escapes fractures after crash in Switzerland

Yamaha factory rider Maxime Renaux has shared a positive update on his health following the heavy crash he suffered during the second moto at the Swiss Grand Prix.

The Frenchman was battling for second place and had a real shot at returning to the podium for the first time since his win in Argentina. However, a violent crash forced him to be medically evacuated from the track, raising serious concern.

Fortunately, Renaux confirmed on social media that he did not suffer any fractures, though he is still awaiting further medical evaluations. Both he and Tim Gajser — another rider affected by the challenging Swiss layout — will have a week off before heading to Portugal for round seven of the championship.

“Big crash in the last laps of race 2 in Switzerland. Pity as I was on podium position and it would have been good to get that after these tough last weeks and injuries.

Luckily it looks like I am fine, I am completely sore and struggle to walk at the moment but it is only contusions and looks like no broken bones. Let’s give it some days and see what will be the plan for next weeks.”
