Slovenia will be without Tim Gajser at the 79th Motocross of Nations, set to take place on October 3-4 in Ernée, France. The absence of the five-time world champion represents a major blow for a team that had hoped to build on its historic result from last year.
The possibility had been looming ever since Gajser announced he would skip the final two rounds of the MXGP World Championship to recover from the effects of the heavy crash he suffered in Sweden. Now, his withdrawal from the Motocross of Nations has been officially confirmed.
The loss significantly alters Slovenia’s ambitions. The nation recorded its best-ever MXoN finish in 2025, placing an impressive fifth overall, and with Gajser leading the squad there were genuine hopes of challenging for a podium position in Ernée.
Stepping into the lineup will be Lucas Osek, the current leader of the Slovenian Motocross Championship.
Osek joins Jaka Peklaj, who will represent the team in MX2, and Jan Pancar, who once again becomes Slovenia’s leading figure in the OPEN class.
Without Gajser, much of the responsibility now falls on Pancar’s shoulders. The Slovenian arrives in France fresh from securing the Italian Prestige MX1 Championship and after completing one of the strongest seasons of his career.
