Spain Names Prado, Farrés and Fernández for 2026 Motocross of Nations

Madrid, August 21, 2026 – The Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation (RFME) has confirmed the team that will represent Spain at the 2026 Motocross of Nations (MXoN), set to take place on October 2-4 at the Raymond Demy Circuit in Ernée, France. Jorge Prado, Guillem Farrés and Rubén Fernández will form the official lineup, while Francisco García and Oriol Oliver have been named as reserve riders under the direction of national team manager Paco Rico.
Spain Targets the Podium at Ernée
Spain heads into this year’s edition with genuine hopes of fighting for the top positions. All three riders are enjoying strong seasons and arrive at Ernée determined to achieve a historic result for Spanish motocross.
Adding to their strength, each rider will be supported by their respective Factory teams, creating a highly competitive group capable of challenging for a podium finish. The team also hopes to benefit from strong support from Spanish fans traveling to Ernée to cheer them on in pursuit of a long-awaited MXoN podium.
Jorge Prado Leads the Charge in MXGP
Prado will make his eighth Motocross of Nations appearance for Spain. The MXGP-class rider arrives in excellent form following a successful season in the United States with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing after missing last year’s event.
The rider from Lugo highlighted the strength of this year’s Spanish squad and recalled Spain’s impressive performance in 2023, when the team challenged for victory.

Guillem Farrés Arrives as MX2 World Championship Leader
Farrés will make his third Motocross of Nations appearance while leading the FIM MX2 World Championship aboard his Triumph machine.
The Catalan rider values the experience gained in previous editions and the chemistry within a squad that has already raced together before. He also heads to Ernée confident in the competitiveness of his bike, despite not racing at the French venue this season.

Rubén Fernández Brings MXGP Experience to MX Open
Fernández returns to represent Spain after another season spent among the top riders in the MXGP World Championship. Competing in the MX Open class, he believes this may be Spain’s strongest lineup yet, with Farrés leading MX2 and Prado continuing to perform at the highest level.
He is confident that, if everything comes together, Spain can challenge for a podium finish at the famous French venue.

Paco Rico: “We Must Aim High”
National team manager Paco Rico praised the quality of the riders and what they have achieved throughout the season.
“We have Jorge, who needs no introduction. In my opinion, he is the greatest Spanish rider of all time and he is currently in outstanding form, as he is proving in the United States. We have Guillem Farrés, the current MX2 championship leader, who has become the rider everyone is trying to beat in the category and who will be a key piece of our team. And we have Rubén Fernández, who sits inside the MXGP top five and always fights like a warrior until the checkered flag in a race as special as the Motocross of Nations.
I like to be respectful and cautious, as always, but I am convinced that we are one of the five or six strongest teams in the event. That means we need to look upward and not put any limits on what we can achieve.
Obviously, I want to win. I believe we need to approach this race with the podium as our target and with the ambition of giving Spanish fans something to celebrate. It would be the perfect way to cap off the remarkable period Spanish motocross has enjoyed internationally over the past few years.
