The fifth round of the 2026 Motocross World Championship is just around the corner, and it arrives at a venue rich in history as Trentino, a circuit that once again intersects with the story of Tim Gajser this April 18–19.
The five-time world champion heads to a track that, over the years, has become far more than just another stop on the calendar. Six overall wins, thirteen podiums, and thirteen race victories underline the relationship between the Slovenian and the Italian venue. This was the place where he claimed his first Grand Prix win back in 2015, the breakthrough moment on his way to securing his maiden MX2 world title.

Trentino also played a pivotal role in 2020, when a reshaped calendar due to the pandemic saw multiple rounds held at the same venue. Gajser capitalized by winning two of the three events that week, a decisive factor in clinching his third premier-class crown. More recently, it was here that he celebrated his last victory before a shoulder injury brought his title hopes to a halt last season.

Now, the context has shifted. Tim Gajser enters a new chapter with Monster Energy Yamaha, already showing strong form. Two podium finishes in the opening four rounds highlight a rapid adaptation to his new machinery.
With all this in mind, the question naturally arises: could Trentino be the stage for his first victory in blue?
