It is with great pleasure that national team manager Thomas Kjer Olsen can announce the three riders who will represent Denmark at this year’s Motocross of Nations in France in October. And although Denmark will once again arrive with one of the youngest teams, it will be made up of riders who have each made significant progress throughout the season, while also having plenty of experience on the biggest stages. Most importantly, they all share the talent and hunger to succeed.
Mikkel Haarup has stepped up to the 450 class in the USA this year, where he has put together several impressive top-10 performances. Therefore, this will also be the first time Mikkel represents Denmark on the big bike in the Open class.
Joining Mikkel on the team this year will be Nicolai Skovbjerg and Mads Fredsøe. Both have represented Denmark at the Motocross of Nations before and know what it takes, while they also have plenty of experience competing on the biggest stages in Europe.

Nicolai has enjoyed a breakthrough season in the EMX series and the German Open Championship, where he has claimed both race wins and overall victories on the MX2 bike. He will also compete in the MX2 class when the action gets underway in Ernée in October.
Mads has likewise been at the sharp end of the EMX series, where he has taken a big step forward, while he remains a factor in the German Open Championship. Mads has also previously been ready to step up a class for Denmark at the Motocross of Nations, and he performed brilliantly when doing so – and he will do it again. He will represent Denmark in the MXGP class at this year’s Motocross of Nations.
“I feel that we are coming with a strong team. Mikkel, Nicolai and Mads all know what it takes to deliver at the biggest race in the world, and all three are ready to give everything they have for Denmark. They have delivered strong results throughout this season, and there has been clear progress from all three of them.”
