MX1: Coldenhoff ends Lopes’ winning streak

Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha C6 Bank IMS) finally claimed his first overall victory in the Brazilian championship. The opening moto was controlled by Enzo Lopes (Honda Brasil), who grabbed the lead early and never looked back. Although Coldenhoff worked his way into second place, he was unable to close the gap to the championship leader.

The second moto followed a similar script, but with the roles reversed. This time, Coldenhoff moved into the lead midway through the race, while Lopes fought his way up to second. Despite his charge, the Brazilian was never able to challenge the Dutchman for the win.

A 2-1 scorecard gave Coldenhoff his first overall victory of the season and ended Lopes’ run of four consecutive overall wins. Lopes secured second overall with a 1-2 finish, while Fabio Santos completed the podium after posting consistent 3-3 results.

Despite taking the overall victory, Coldenhoff was unable to gain ground in the championship standings. By matching Lopes on points over the weekend, he remains 31 points behind the series leader with five rounds still to go.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Van Horebeek (Honda Brasil) endured a difficult weekend. Two crashes, the second one proving particularly costly, ended his hopes of a strong result and dropped him to seventh in the championship standings.
