THE PREVIEW

There are still a few weeks to go before the Motocross World Championship gets back underway, but several of its key protagonists remain active, continuing to build momentum across various national championships throughout Europe. One of them is Jeffrey Herlings, who hasn’t taken a single weekend off: after winning last Sunday at round two of the French Elite Championship, the Dutchman now heads to Harfsen for the second round of the Dutch Masters, where he will once again face several of his direct MXGP rivals.

Herlings arrives as the championship leader after dominating the opening round in Heerde with a convincing 1-1 performance. Right behind him sits the reigning champion, Romain Febvre, while third place is held by Kay de Wolf, who continues to establish himself as one of the standout names early in the season.

On the breaking news side, Kay de Wolf has been ruled out of the event due to a thumb injury. More details here:

The gate in Harfsen will gain even more depth with the return to action of riders such as Pauls Jonass, Calvin Vlaanderen and Alberto Forato, joined as well by Maxime Renaux, significantly raising the competitive level of the event.

In the 250cc category, Karlis Reisulis leads the standings with a narrow three-point advantage over Kay Karssemakers. Behind them, Cas Valk sits in third place, although his recent departure from TM Moto could impact his schedule and ongoing participation in the series.
