Bud Racing is the first WSX team to reveal its complete WSX rider lineup for the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship, which kick-off on 26 October for the season-opening WSX Canadian Grand Prix at BC Place in Vancouver.

WSX: SOUBEYRAS & BOURDON

Cedric Soubeyras #85

Soubeyras has represented Bud Racing since joining WSX and has taken steps forward year-on-year to become a consistent frontrunner and proven, respected competitor in the series’ 450cc class.

After placing seventh in points in 2022, Soubeyras reached new heights last season, finishing a series-best second in GP Race 1 of the 2023 WSX Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Etihad Arena.

Earlier in 2024, Soubeyras also tasted glory on the European scene, claiming the highly coveted honour of King of Dortmund in the 39th edition of the German Supercross classic.

“I’m excited to continue my journey with Bud Racing into the 2024 WSX season. Since joining WSX in 2022, we’ve taken consistent steps forward together and after finishing fifth in Abu Dhabi last year, we have a very strong base to build on. As a racing platform, WSX is becoming more and more competitive season by season, and that development encourages every rider to push forward to reach and unlock new levels of performance. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together when we get started in Vancouver.”

Anthony Bourdon #945

Bourdon, who will return to 450cc competition this season after switching to WSX’s 250cc SX2 class for 2023, is also hoping for a strong end to the year after emerging as a breakout competitor in AMA Supercross 250SX West in 2024.

Placing inside the top 10 in the championship, with a best finish of sixth in San Francisco and Anaheim, Bourdon is placed on a springboard to tackle WSX later this year.

“After competing in SX2 in 2023, stepping back into WSX’s 450cc class with Bud Racing will be an exciting new challenge, and it’s one that I’m looking forward to. Racing in AMA Supercross this year, both in 250cc and 450cc, has been a fantastic learning experience, and I want to bring my knowledge and experiences from that into WSX this season. Racing in Vancouver, Perth, and Abu Dhabi is a big way to end 2024, and I’m hoping to deliver some strong results.”

SX2: FONVIEILLE & MAYLIN

Calvin Fonvieille #111

Holding six national championship titles at various levels, Fonvieille represents the next generation of Motocross and Supercross talent in France and is set to make an impact when he bursts onto the international scene in WSX later this year.

In 2019, he again tasted success by claiming the French National MX2 title and added another championship to his name in 2021 by becoming the French MX 250 champion. 2024 will mark his rookie season in WSX.

“Racing at an international level has always been a dream of mine, and I’ve been working towards this moment for the whole of my career. I’ve been training hard and with Bud Racing’s support, I firmly believe that we can achieve great things together. Racing in WSX in 2024 will be a big moment for me, and I’m ready to give the championship everything I’ve got.”

Brice Maylin #31

Like Fonvieille, Brice Maylin will also make his debut in WSX this season and joins Bud Racing after displaying speed and consistency in the French Elite Motocross Championship over the past two years.

A proven Supercross racer, the 2022 French SX2 vice champion is hoping to make an immediate impression when he takes to BC Place in Vancouver on 26 October for the WSX Canadian GP – an event which arguably marks the biggest race weekend of his career to date.

“Joining the WSX grid is a big step for me in my career. Over the past two seasons, SX2 has been dominated by some of the best riders in the world like Max Anstie and Shane McElrath and although the competition will be tough, I’m ready to do whatever it takes to show what I can do on track. It’ll be an honour to represent Bud Racing in Vancouver, Perth, and Abu Dhabi, and I’m looking forward to getting the season started next month.”
