Race Results: ADAC MX Masters | Round 4 Tensfeld

Max Nagl ADAC Bitche 26

The fourth round of the ADAC MX Masters Championship in Germany was overshadowed by a heavy crash involving Max Nagl. The five-time champion suffered a serious accident during Saturday’s opening moto while battling for the lead with Roan van de Moosdijk. Both riders collided with a fallen rider on the track, with Nagl taking the worst of the impact. Van de Moosdijk was able to continue and eventually finished third.

The severity of the incident forced race officials to stop the moto with a red flag, allowing medical personnel to attend to the German rider immediately. A few hours later, Nagl provided an update on his condition through social media:

“Thank you all for your messages and well wishes. After yesterday’s crash, I felt that something wasn’t right. At the hospital, after the first examinations, I was told that I had two fractured vertebrae, one in my neck and one in my upper back.

Today, the doctors carried out another examination and consultation, and fortunately they told me that my neck is not broken, so they were also able to remove the neck brace. I will now return home to see my doctor and undergo further tests.

A huge thank you to my team, the emergency staff who did everything possible, and also to the doctors at Neumünster Hospital!”

Despite the dramatic incident, the weekend continued with three different moto winners: Tom Koch, Max Spies, and Jere Haavisto.

However, it was Roan van de Moosdijk (Sarholz KTM) who secured the overall victory thanks to his consistency. His 3-2-2 scorecard earned him the top spot in the overall classification. The reigning champion also capitalized on Nagl’s retirement to take over the championship lead, extending his advantage to 49 points over the German rider.

The positive news for Nagl is that the championship now enters a lengthy summer break, with the next round not scheduled until early August. The extended gap could provide valuable time for the veteran to recover before returning to competition.

Skovbjerg Dominates Youngster Cup

In the Youngster Cup category, Nicolai Skovbjerg made a perfect debut under his new colors after recently announcing his departure from MX-Handel Husqvarna to join SixtySeven Husqvarna. The Danish rider delivered a flawless performance at Tensfeld, winning all three motos and claiming the overall victory.

Thanks to his dominant weekend, Skovbjerg further strengthened his position at the top of the championship standings and now enjoys an impressive 70-point lead. Reigning champion Mads Fredsøe finished second overall for the weekend with results of 5-2-3, but lost significant ground in the title race.
