RUMOR: Tim Gajser undergo surgery on Tuesday?

Gajser Argentina 25

The run-around to the MXGP of Portugal has been dominated by big news: Tim Gajser will not race in Águeda, and concerns about his physical condition continue to grow.

Early rumors from the paddock suggest the Slovenian rider could undergo surgery as soon as Tuesday, a move that could seriously affect the remainder of his 2025 season.

Gajser dislocated his shoulder after a heavy crash in the second moto of the Swiss GP. Over the following two weeks, he and his team worked intensely to try and recover in time for Portugal.

However, on Wednesday, he suffered a new dislocation in the same shoulder, setting off alarm bells in the HRC camp.

While HRC has yet to release an official statement, strong paddock rumors suggest Gajser might face a recovery period of around three months, potentially ruling him out of championship contention.

If confirmed, this would be a major blow for the five-time world champion.

Fernández steps up as HRC sole rider

In the meantime, all focus at HRC shifts to Rubén Fernández, who will be the team’s only rider in the premier class this weekend. The Spaniard has already proven he can handle the pressure, delivering solid results in 2023 — including a win at the season-opening GP in Argentina.
