Jeffrey Herlings wins in Romage | Round 3 French MX Tour

Herlings Romagne 26

Jeffrey Herlings and Mathys Boisrame takes the overall at the third round of the French Elite Motocross Championship in Romagne.

MX1: Herlings goes 1-1 in Romagne

The standout guest of the weekend, Jeffrey Herlings (Honda HRC Petronas), delivered exactly as expected in the opening moto. He grabbed the lead early and pulled away mid-race after a strong challenge from Maxime Desprey. The Yamaha GSM Dafy Michelin rider had launched brilliantly, staying within striking distance of the five-time world champion, but eventually crossed the line 35 seconds adrift.

Meanwhile, Thibault Benistant (Motoblouz SR Honda) carved his way through the pack from 21st on the opening lap to snatch third place from Bogdan Krajewski on the final lap. Kevin Horgmo (Motoblouz SR Honda), on the other hand, managed to finish eighth despite dealing with fork issues from mid-race onwards.

In moto two, Herlings once again took control immediately and set an untouchable pace on his way to a perfect 1-1 sweep. Behind him, Brice Maylin held off Horgmo and Benistant for much of the race until the closing stages, when he dropped to fourth under pressure from the Honda duo. In the end, Benistant secured second overall with consistent 3-3 finishes, while Desprey salvaged a podium in third (2-5).

The championship remains tight. Benistant retains the red plate, but by just three points over Desprey (257-254), with Horgmo now up to third overall on 245 points.

MX2: Boisramé ends Garcia´s his streak

Reigning champion Mathys Boisramé (KTM 737 Performance) brought an end to Francisco Garcia’s perfect run of four consecutive moto wins.

In the first moto, Garcia (Bud Racing Kawasaki) quickly took control and built a comfortable gap to secure another victory. However, moto two told a different story. After grabbing the holeshot, Garcia crashed in the early laps, handing the lead to Boisramé. The Spaniard began charging back through the field with impressive speed, but a second crash halted his momentum.

That opened the door for Boisramé to manage the race from the front and claim his first overall win of the season with a 2-1 scorecard, edging Garcia’s 1-2. The podium was completed by Alexi Fueri (Beta) with 3-5 finishes.

It was a tough day for Jake Cannon (Bud Racing Kawasaki), who suffered a mechanical issue just before the opening moto. Nevertheless, he rejoined and fought his way back to 18th. In moto two, he once again had to come through the pack after a first-corner crash, eventually finishing an impressive third.

In the championship standings, Garcia still leads comfortably, holding a 54-point advantage. Boisramé and Cannon are now tied for second place on 240 points, adding new pressure as the season progresses.
