The Brazilian Motocross Championship heads into another crucial weekend with growing expectations surrounding both the MX1 and MX2 categories. The opening rounds of the season have already delivered changing conditions, intense battles and several standout performances, while international stars continue to add even more depth to the series. With the championship beginning to take shape, every race and every point are becoming increasingly important.

In MX1, the spotlight remains firmly on the developing rivalry between Enzo Lopes and Glenn Coldenhoff, while MX2 has so far been controlled by the flawless form of Salvador Pérez, who arrives unbeaten after the first two rounds.

MX1: Lopes vs. Coldenhoff takes center stage

Enzo Lopes (Honda Brasil) has won the opening two rounds of the season, even without claiming an overall moto sweep in Ponta Grossa. However, his winning streak now faces a serious challenge following the resurgence of Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha C6 Banks IMS). After a difficult debut appearance, the Dutchman bounced back strongly in round two by securing his first podium of the championship (2nd overall), including a victory in the second moto. That result elevated him to third in the standings and fans are now eagerly waiting to see the Lopes–Coldenhoff battle fully come alive.

Meanwhile, Jeremy van Horebeek (Honda Brasil) experienced mixed fortunes in Ponta Grossa. The Belgian won the opening moto but a mechanical failure in race two forced him out of contention and dropped him to fourth in the championship standings. Van Horebeek is also continuing to manage knee and neck injuries, although he remains determined to stay in the title fight.

French rider Greg Aranda will also be looking to finally put together a complete weekend and begin closing the gap in the standings. Interestingly, Aranda’s team, 595 KTM Racing, has recently been confirmed as one of the official teams for the 2026 World Supercross Championship.

MX2: Pérez sets the benchmark

Salvador Pérez (Yamaha Geracao) has been the undisputed benchmark in MX2 after winning all four motos contested so far this season. Neither the heavy rain nor the muddy conditions of the previous round were enough to slow him down, as he continues to establish himself as the rider everyone else must chase.

Among the riders hoping to challenge his dominance are Pietro Piroli (Honda Brasil) and Henrique Henicka (595 KTM Racing), both of whom have shown enough pace to remain within striking distance, although neither has yet managed to seriously threaten Pérez for overall victories.
