Japan withdraw for the Motocross of Nations 2023

MXoN USA 2022, RedBud, Rider:

So far more than thirty countries have confirmed their teams for the Motocross of Nations 2023 to be held in Ernée, France, on October 7 & 8. Except for Japan, that has decided not to participate in the 76th edition of the event.

The reason for such a decision was due to the date scheduled for the MXoN coincides with the seventh round of the All-Japan National Championship.

While Japan has never been among the favorites (in fact last year they failed to advance to the finals), the decision not to compete is still somewhat remarkable as it detracts from the opportunity to see Jo Shimoda, the brand new winner of the inaugural round of SuperMotocross, take on European MX2 stars such as Lucas Coenen, Kay de Wolf, Andrea Adamo or Simon Langenfelder, to name a few.
