Isak Gifting will continue with JK Yamaha for the 2027 season, extending his partnership with the Italian team for a fourth consecutive year. The Swedish rider will once again compete in the FIM Motocross World Championship’s MXGP class, as well as the Italian Prestige Championship.
Gifting made the step up to the premier class in 2024 and has since established himself as a regular top-ten contender. In 2025, he secured his best MXGP result to date with a fifth-place finish at the Grand Prix of Loket in the Czech Republic. A few weeks later, he came close to claiming his first-ever race win at his home GP in Uddevalla, only to crash in the closing stages.
The 2026 season, however, proved to be a difficult one. A shoulder injury sustained early in the year kept him sidelined for much of the campaign, limiting his participation to just five rounds. An eighth-place finish at Lommel was his best result.
Alongside his MXGP commitments, Gifting will also return to the Italian Prestige Championship, where he claimed the MX1 title in 2025. He was unable to defend that crown this season due to his injury.
JK Yamaha, which receives factory engines, has also left the door open to the possibility of adding a second rider to its line-up for 2027. No further details have been confirmed at this stage.
