Janis Reisulis clinchs the 2025 EMX250 Title

Reiuslis Arnhem 25

Latvian Janis Reisulis has secured the 2025 EMX250 European Championship with one moto to spare at the season finale in Afyon, Turkiye.

In his rookie season in the class, Reisulis confirmed his fast rise after claiming the EMX125 title in 2023. Riding for VHR VRT Yamaha, he capped off an outstanding year with 10 moto wins, 4 overall victories, and 8 podium finishes.

The road to the crown wasn’t without challenges. After opening the season with a 4th place in Castilla-La Mancha, he took the red plate by Round 3. A DNF in the first moto in Switzerland (Round 4) seemed to complicate things, but he responded in style, stacking wins in Portugal, Lugo, and at his home round in Latvia, building a decisive points gap.

From then on, he managed his lead with composure, adding podiums that consolidated his advantage. In Saturday’s first moto in Afyon, he only needed an 8th or better to seal the championship with a 33-point cushion over Noel Zanocz (JM Honda) — and he got the job done.

This is Reisulis’ second European title, after lifting the EMX125 crown in 2023. Now, at just 17 years old, the Latvian talent is preparing for the leap to MX2, where he could line up alongside his brother, Karlis.
