Jago Geerts is set for a new challenge in his career after joining Josse Sallefranque’s SR Motoblouz Honda team for the 2027 season. The French outfit, which officially announced the signing of Calvin Vlaanderen in August, has now completed its line-up with the arrival of the Belgian rider, as previously reported.
Geerts will compete on a Honda for the first time in his World Championship career, making it the third manufacturer he has represented at world level. After spending eight seasons with Yamaha (2018-2025), the Belgian raced with Beta in 2026 and will now embark on a new chapter aboard the Honda CRF450R.
His move marks another opportunity for one of the most talented yet unfortunate riders in recent MX2 history. Despite claiming 24 Grand Prix victories in the category, Geerts never managed to secure the World Championship title, finishing as runner-up on four consecutive occasions in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
His move up to MXGP in 2024 failed to bring the same level of success, while his departure from the official Yamaha team at the end of 2025 marked the beginning of a new adventure with Beta.
With his future now settled, Geerts can turn his attention towards his winter preparation with SR Motoblouz Honda. He will reunite with Calvin Vlaanderen, who is also set to begin a new challenge with the French team.
Both riders will represent SR Motoblouz Honda in the MXGP World Championship, while also competing in the French Elite MX1 Championship.
