Tim Gajser in doubt for the MXGP of Germany

Gajser Lacapelle 26

According to Yamaha’s press release, Tim Gajser is doing everything he can to return to the starting grid this weekend in Germany for the seventh round of the MXGP Motocross World Championship. The Slovenian suffered an impact to his right knee in the chaotic crash during the first race at Lacapelle-Marival. The five-time world champion has an impressive track record at the German circuit, where he has stood on the podium eight times, including four Grand Prix victories.

Determined to add to that tally, Gajser has spent the week working closely with specialists to speed up his recovery, maintaining a positive attitude as he assesses his physical condition. Known for his incredible resilience, the Slovenian remains focused on his championship goals and will make a final decision alongside his team on Friday.

«I’m doing everything I can to be back on the gate this weekend. After the crash in France, I’ve been working closely with specialists all week to recover as fast as I can. We’ll make the final decision later this week, but I’m feeling positive. I really like Teutschenthal, it’s a nice track. I’ve had many wins and podiums there in the past, so I have a lot of good memories. I hope to line up, ready to enjoy the weekend, and make some more good memories.»

Although Gajser managed to get back on his feet on his own after the crash, he was not allowed to rejoin the race after attempting to switch bikes. This setback has dropped him to fourth place in the championship, 63 points behind leader Lucas Coenen.
