The German national team roster for the 2025 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations has been announced. For the most prestigious MX race of the year, taking place on October 4–5 at the legendary Ironman Raceway in Indiana, USA, team managers Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider have named six riders to the extended squad.

Ken Roczen – The icon of German motocross is back in the squad. In 2023, Roczen dominated the individual MXGP classification at the MXoN and, alongside Max Nagl and Marcus Schiffer, famously won the Chamberlain Trophy back in 2012. Whether he’ll compete for Team Germany in 2025 depends on his recovery from injury and clearance from his team and sponsors. One thing is certain: if Roczen races, expect fireworks.

Simon Längenfelder – The 20-year-old KTM factory rider is currently having a world-class MX2 season, leading the championship with speed, technique, and consistency. He has always been a key player for Team Germany at past events. In 2025, he’s aiming to make another big statement in the U.S. and prove his talent against the world’s best.

Max Nagl – The veteran of the team. With his experience, leadership, and incredible speed, Nagl remains a serious contender for the 2025 line-up. He’s currently dominating the ADAC MX Masters like in his prime. At 37, he knows exactly what it takes to deliver at the MXoN – both athletically and mentally.

Tom Koch – The Beta factory rider is a fixture on the international motocross scene. He brings valuable experience and consistency to the table in 2025, and is determined to prove he’s not just ready for the big stage – but fully capable of delivering when it counts.

Noah Ludwig – Young, explosive, and technically sharp. With his overall win at the ADAC MX Masters in Mölln and several impressive MXGP appearances, Ludwig has made a strong statement in 2025. His solid starts and versatility – including as a potential MX2 pick – make him a valuable asset to the team.

Maximilian Spies – “Spicy” brings power, presence, and hunger for more in 2025. With top-three results in the ADAC MX Masters and standout performances at selected MXGP rounds, he’s showing he’s ready for the spotlight. Spies is eager to be more than a backup – he wants to be a crucial part of Mission Ironman.

The final trio – representing the MX1, MX2, and Open classes – will be selected in the coming weeks. Decisions will be based not only on performance and current results but also on logistical feasibility, manufacturer support, and international race participation.

Team Management Statement

“We’re excited about the depth of talent and the mix of experience, speed, and young energy in our 2025 squad,” said Dornhöfer and Schneider. “Our goal is to send a strong, unified team to the USA – both athletically and organizationally.”
