Team Sweden is ready for the Motocross des Nations in Erneé, France on October 7-8.
Last year Swede finished 12th in the Nations standings, results they hope to improve this year with the service of Alvin Östlund (MXGP), Filip Bengtsson (MX2), and Isak Gifting (OPEN).
Alvin Östlund has represented Sweden at the Team Sweden 7 times before and made his debut in the Team in 2015 in Erneé. He competes in the MXGP class and has had a good season with a best 10th place this year. In recent years, Alvin has driven the World Championship for various teams and has a lot of experience.
Meanwhile, Filip Bengtsson has represented Sweden in the Team on 8 occasions before, the first time in 2010 and most recently in 2019. Filip has driven nationally in recent years and leads the SM in the MX2 class.
As for Isak Gifting, he made his first Team appreance in 2021 in Italy, and was at the top in the MX2 class (did not participate in 2022 due to a knee injury). Isak belongs to drivers from Top 5-10 in this year’s MX2 class. He competes for a French team in this year’s and feels ready to make his 450 debut with good support from GAS GAS and the team.
Sweden has seven Motocross of Nations titles from three different decades. The first came in 1958 and then a back-to-back win between 1961 and 1966. Then another back-to-back, this time in 1970 and 1971 before the last one in 1975.
