One of the mysteries this week has been the absence of Jorge Prado during the four days of media press held in Anaheim in anticipation of the 2025 AMA Supercross season. Prado was also absent from the team photoshoot, which was also attended by all Pro Circuit Kawasaki riders, as well as teammate Jason Anderson.
What happened? After consulting with several sources, all indications are that Prado suffered a fall while training. At first it was rumored that he might have fractured his wrist, although this does not seem to be the case. However, Prado has reportedly suffered a concussion, which has put his training sessions on hold for at least a week.
“We did not get Jorge Prado this week. There are some rumors of some crashes at the test track for Prado. It is early days in Supercross development for him, and just from some of the scuttlebutt I’m hearing, it has not been super smooth. Crashing is never good, and this is a work in progress in supercross. We could be here next year or in two years and he is flying at the test track. It’s just going to take a bit.” said Jason Weigdant from Racer X
UPDATE 17/12
He hit his head pretty good but did not break any bones or suffer other injuries. He decided to take a few days off from riding and missed the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) media day at Angel Stadium but is already back to cycling. Jorge’s team wants him to be 100 percent for Anaheim 1 next month so he took it easy and should be back on the motorcycle soon. He will probably begin riding again this coming week.
“I had a crash last week and hit my head and my arm,” said Prado, who was supposed to fly to Spain for tonight’s FIM Gala as the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship MXGP Champion.
