How to Watch: Motocross Brazil Round 6 | Goiana

The sixth round of the MX1 GP Brazil Championship will be held this weekend in Goiânia.

The usual race format will undergo some changes during this round. Instead of the traditional two motos, MX1 and MX2 riders will contest a total of three races over the course of the weekend.

The Goiânia event will feature an additional moto to make up for the race that could not be completed in Castro due to adverse weather conditions. As a result, Saturday’s schedule will consist of free practice, timed sessions, and a points-paying moto for both MX1 and MX2.

On Sunday, riders will take part in the warm-up sessions before contesting the remaining two motos of each class, including the Final MX1 vs MX2 race. Under this exceptional format, a total of 75 championship points will be available in both MX1 and MX2, a figure that could have a significant impact on the title battles.

The previous round produced one of the standout moments of the season. Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha C6 Bank IMS) claimed his first-ever victory on Brazilian soil, bringing an end to Enzo Lopes’ (Honda Brasil) winning streak. Prior to that, Lopes had secured four consecutive overall victories, a feat achieved by very few riders in the championship’s recent history. Despite the setback, the Brazilian remains at the top of the standings.

Coldenhoff’s breakthrough victory has added a new dimension to the championship fight. With five rounds still remaining, the Dutchman will be looking to cut into a 31-point deficit and keep his MX1 title hopes alive.
