The third round of the 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship in Gold Coast, Australia delivered one of the most intense nights of the season.
Ken Roczen returned to winning form in SX1, while Max Anstie kept his flawless run alive in SX2 with yet another dominant performance. It was also a key event for the championship landscape, especially with Roczen now officially out of the final two rounds.
SX1: Roczen wins & Craig Emerges as Titlte Contender
The Australian Grand Prix was highly anticipated thanks to a stacked lineup featuring Eli Tomac, Haiden Deegan, Cooper Webb, Ken Roczen, and the full WSX roster. The night delivered three different winners across three races.
Ken Roczen set the tone early by winning Sprint 1, then backed it up with two strong comeback rides to secure the overall with 1-4-3 scores. Behind him, the breakthrough of the night came from Christian Craig (Quad Lock Honda), who claimed a spectacular victory in the Main Event—his first of the season—to take second overall.

Cooper Webb (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) rounded out the podium via 4-1-6, with full control of Sprint 2 in what was arguably one of the wildest races of the championship so far.
Eli Tomac (Red Bull KTM) showed speed but also uncharacteristic mistakes that kept him off the box, finishing 4th overall. Joey Savatgy surprised early by topping both qualifying and SuperPole, and despite being one of the most aggressive riders of the night, closed the event in 5th.

Haiden Deegan had the speed to fight for the win—finishing 6th in Sprint 1 and 2nd in the Main Event—but a crash-induced DNF in the middle race crushed his podium hope.
With Roczen now confirmed to skip the final two rounds, the championship picture opens up dramatically. Christian Craig is projected to inherit the red plate, holding a 10-point advantage over Savatgy, with Jason Anderson a further eight points back after a crash took him out of the final race.

SX2: Max Anstie | Nine Straight Wins
The storyline in the small class remains unchanged: Max Anstie continues to be unstoppable.
The GSM Yamaha/Star Racing rider once again swept the night with a perfect 1-1-1, resisting heavy pressure in the Main Event to secure his third consecutive clean sweep and extend his win streak to nine straight motos.

In the standings, Anstie now commands a 28-point lead over Coty Schock, who narrowly missed the podium this time.
A tough night for another contender, Enzo Lopes, saw him crash out of Sprint 2 and later withdraw from the Main after five laps. His condition remains unclear.
Reigning champion Shane McElrath delivered his best performance of the season, finishing 2nd overall and even leading eight of twelve laps in the Main before Anstie found the opening to escape.
The surprise of the night came from Cullin Park (MCR Honda), who earned his first-ever WSX podium with an impressive 4-2-3 for third overall.
