A masterclass from Honda HRC’s Tim Gajser, saw the #243 win both races at the MXGP of Trentino, giving him the maximum 50 points and extending his lead in the 2025 MXGP championship to 39 points.

In the MX2 class, Andrea Adamo wins the MX2 Trentino Grand Prix for the second time in his career with results of 3-2.

MXGP: GAJSER IMPERIOUS

Despite finishing second in yesterday’s qualification race, Gajser felt there was more to come and after working with the team on some changes with the bike, man and machine was in perfect synchronisation in today’s GP-scoring races.

In race one, a good start saw him move into second place very early on, where he then proceeded to stalk the leader, waiting for the right time to pass. That moment came with five laps to go, as the Slovenian swept through in one of the rutted corners. Despite pressure, he held on for the win, but also knew that he’d have to repeat that performance in race two if he wanted to take his sixth overall at the picturesque Pietramurata circuit.

Kawasaki KRT Romain Febvre topped every single session on Saturday, but finished 2-2 for 2nd overall on Sunday. The podium was filled by Fantic´s Glenn Coldenhoff (5-3).

Tim Gajser: «Very happy with how the weekend went. It wasn’t easy, and I wasn’t so good yesterday but today we made some changes and it really worked out. I need to thank all the team for the work they did to help me and it’s great to get both the wins today. I’d also like to thank all the fans who come to support me and make this into a ‘home’ GP for me. It is so nice to see so many in front of me when I stand on the podium and I am thankful for each of them. Now, onwards to Switzerland to try and keep this momentum going!»

MX2: ANDREA ADAMO TOPS ON HOME SOIL

After a 14th place on Saturday Qualifying Race, Andrea Adamo claim the overall via 3-2 in motos.

The first MX2 moto was slick and slimy until the track developed some dry lines and patches and formed deep ruts. Adamo started well, charged to 2nd and was only bumped to 3rd by reigning world champion Kay De Wolf in the final few corners.

Adamo, who celebrated his first career win at Trentino in 2023, bided his time behind holeshotter Sacha Coenen in the second moto and when the Belgian slipped out of the lead in the first laps the Italian had a clear track.

The calm was momentary as the former world champion ran into backmarkers late on, and Thibault Benistant was able to close and pass the #80. Still, 2nd was sufficient for Adamo’s second victory of the season and second from the last three rounds.

Kay de Wolf (2-4) and Thibault Benistant (12-1) rounded the podium.

Andrea Adamo: “Amazing! A solid day but again, we had issues with the lappers. It was a bummer not to win the second moto and after putting in a solid gap when I was in the lead. Anyway…I’m super-happy to win the GP that’s the most important thing and to give the fans what they deserved for their support. I hope we can keep this momentum now. We are doing good.”
