Tim Gajser and Jago Geerts ends the season on top at the MXGP of Matterley Basin

The last Grand Prix of the 2023 season, hosted in Matterley Basin, England, concluded with Tim Gajser and Jago Geerts at the top of the podium in their respective classes.

Tim Gasjser grabbed his second GP win of the season and the first sweep since Indonesia in 2022. The HRC rider was brilliant in both motos catching Glenn Coldenhoff in the final laps of the first race and then in the early stages of race 2 to secure a double moto win. The podium was filled by Bronze medal Jeremy Seewer from Monster Energy Yamaha via 2-4, while the third spot went to runner-up finisher in the standings Romain Febvre of IceOne Kawasaki with a solid 5-2.

Fresh MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado finished out of the podium with a tenth overall after crashes in both motos.

In the MX2 class, it was game on and fireworks between Jago Geerts and Simon Langenfelder who fought for the Silver Plate. In the end, it was Jago Geerts who took the runner-up spot in the standings for the fourth time in a row after winning the GP (his last GP in MX2) with a 3-1. Langenfelder, who the first race of the day, lost the Silver medal by 4 points.

World Champion Andrea Adamo rounded the podium with a 4-3.
