France has officially revealed its strong three-rider lineup for the 78th Motocross of Nations, set to take place on October 4–5 at Ironman Raceway, Indiana.
With six team victories in its history — including the memorable win on U.S. soil at RedBud 2018 — the French squad will look to replicate that success this year in America.
Leading the tricolor team is Romain Febvre (Kawasaki KRT) in MXGP, the current points leader in the World Championship. In the OPEN category, Maxime Renaux (Monster Energy Yamaha) has been selected, edging out Dylan Ferrandis for the spot.
The biggest news comes in MX2. With Tom Vialle ruled out — likely due to his much-discussed move to Honda HRC for the MXGP World Championship — and Thibault Benistant unavailable after his demand for a Star Racing Yamaha lease went unmet, the place has gone to Mathis Valin (Kawasaki KRT). The MX2 rookie has already impressed in his debut season with a qualifying heat win and a podium finish (3rd in Loket), making him one of France’s brightest rising stars.
