French rider Stephen Rubini wrapped up the MX1 championship at the ninth and final round of the Brazilian Motocross series, held Sunday the 14th in Indaiatuba.

Coming into the weekend with a 15-point advantage, the Honda Brazil rider played it smart—avoiding unnecessary risks and focusing on securing the crown. A third-place finish in the opening moto brought him within touching distance of the title, and sixth in the final race of the year was more than enough to start the celebrations with his team.

“I feel great and I’m so happy for the whole team that worked so hard for this. We deserve this title. I want to thank the team, my wife, my family, and my trainer David Vuillemin; they are all part of this. Last year I was so close but lost the title due to injury, I didn’t give up and now I made it happen.”

Meanwhile, his teammate Jeremy ended the season on a high note, taking the overall win on the day. Despite a tough comeback from an early-season injury, the Belgian showed his talent once again and secured third overall in the championship standings.
