As we mentioned yesterday, 250SX Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider RJ Hampshire was involved with some rumors of a possible 450SX debut in the upcoming East Coast rounds. Now, RJ has made it official via social media.
“Let’s give it a go!!! See you this weekend in Daytona on the 450! Thank you to the ones that made it happen and gave me this opportunity” wrote the 27 rider from Florida.
It´s possible that Daytona will not be the only 450 race for RJ. According with some sources, Hampshire has the oportunity to ride at least 3 races before West Coast series return to the action on March 25 in Seattle.
Currentlyl,y he sits second in the 250SX West Coast standings with three podiums in four races, having a 20 points deficit behind Jett Lawrence. So the rest of the season will be crucial for RJ´s career, especially those on the 450SX since he has to move to the 450 class next year.
