Team Spain took the pole for the first time in the history at the 77th edition of the Motocross of Nations in Matterley Basin.

Team Spain took the pole for the first time in the history at the 77th edition of the Motocross of Nations in Matterley Basin. The Spaniard trio rode superb during the all three races, starting with a wire-to-wire win by Jorge Prado in the MXGP Qualifying race, followebd by a solid 9th place of Oriol Oliver in MX2 and then Ruben Fernandez got a strong 2nd place behind Jett Lawrence in OPEN. With the worst score dropped, Spain took the overall by 3 points.

Defending champs, Team France, finished 2nd overall by 1 point short after Tom Vialle dominate the MX2 race and Maxime Renaux finished 3rd. Romain Febvre also finished 3rd in MXGP.

Team Australia got 3rd. Hunter Lawrence was riding well in the MXGP race, but a fall in the last lap cost him third place, finishing 4th. Then Hunter Lawrence took the win in OPEN by wasn´t enough to beat Spain. MX2 rider Kyle Webster show good speed early on but two falls put him 13th.

Meanwhile Team USA qualifyied 9th with a 7th of Eli Tomac and a 6th of Aaron Plessinger as the best score so far.
