The penultimate round of the Motocross World Championship in Afyon, Turkey, delivered another tense weekend with battles in every class and the title fights heating up.
MXGP: Herlings hits a milestone
Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM) claimed his 50th MXGP win – and the 111th of his career – going 2-1 on the day. Lucas Coenen looked set to dominate after winning the Qualifying Race and Race 1, but a poor start in the second moto left him third behind Herlings and Romain Febvre. With two rounds to go, Coenen has trimmed Febvre’s lead to 26 points.

HRC duo Tim Gajser and Ruben Fernandez both put two solid motos rounding the top 5, fourth and fifth overall respectively.
MX2: Langendelfer vs De Wolf
Simon Längenfelder (Red Bull KTM) took the overall with a 3-1, but Kay de Wolf (Nestaan Husqvarna) kept the pressure on with a consistent 2-2. De Wolf actually gained three across the whole weekend thanks to Saturday’s results.

Sacha Coenen secured his seventh podium of the season, while Spain’s Guillem Farrés narrowly missed the box with a brilliant third place in Race 2.

WMX: Penalties shake up the standings
The WMX title fight took a dramatic twist. Daniela Guillén (Spain) finished second overall, but both she and race winner Kiara Fontanesi were handed 5-point penalties for jumping under yellow flags. That decision favors Lotte Van Drunen, who missed the podium for the first time this year but now holds a 17-point lead heading into the season finale in Australia.
