MXGP of Argentina until 2027 – Looking for a new venue

MXPG Argentina 2024, Patagonia, Villa Langostura, Rider: DeWolf

The 2024 MXGP of Argentina in Villa La Angostura didn´t disappoint. Big crowds, whips, thrilled battles, and the always-perfect atmosphere were the ingredients that made this GP one of the best on the calendar, as the “Best GP track” or “Best Fans Engagement” awards can confirm. Unfortunately, this has been the last trip to Villa La Angostura. After eight successful editions, promoters announced during the press conference that this was the last race as the venue now has new owners who aren´t involved with motocross plans in the future.

David Eli (+Eventos): “Unfortunately, this is the last year of MXGP Argentina in this venue since it has a new owner and his project is not compatible with our actions. We are already looking for a new venue, maybe not in the Village but surely somewhere nice in Neuquén, which will be defined in the next 90 days. We will have a new venue, with the same mysticism that this one has, and with the possibility of perhaps better connectivity to facilitate greater public attendance”.

The good news is that MXGP of Argentina will stay on the calendar until 2027, but promotors are looking for a new venue. In the past, places like Salta, Cosquin, Carlos Paz, and La Rioja held a ton of Grand Prix in the decades of 80s and the 90s. Those were some good options, but Argentina is plenty of great other scenarios to discover.

David Eli (+Eventos) on a new venue: “The MXGP Argentina YPF INFINIA is an event that has settled a lot and is growing every day, even with all the inconveniences we had this time. We have a Motocross World Championship in Argentina until 2027 and very soon we will announce the new venue that we hope will be as magical as this one. It has been a pleasure to race all these years in Patagonia Race Track and in Villa La Angostura”.
