Marvin Musquin after A1: “I’m very disappointed with my end result”

Musquin a1 23

Marvin Muquin created buzz in the morning after being the top fastest qualifier in the first time session. His first “pole session” since Arlington 2021. At the end he marked the third overall fastest time, which is still was a good results. Then in the heat race rode well into the top 3 before came down in 5th place.

Despite such a solid performance the things didn´t go as planned in the Main Event, when he ended up outisde the top ten. The Frenchman struggled from the start until the checkered flag and found himself in a small crash during the race for a unexpected 12th place, his worst results in an opener race since a 14th in A1 2016.

“I’m very disappointed with my end result and I know I can do a lot better. Track conditions were very tough and I wasn’t able to put it all together tonight. I had a bad start and got pinched badly in the first turn, and from that point on I struggled to find a rhythm. I could’ve got a good result as a lot of riders crashed, but I wasn’t able to make it happen. I got into a better rhythm in the middle part of the race, but then I dropped it. It was a really tough night and this isn’t what I want, so we’ll keep working and do better next weekend.”
