Marc-Antoine Rossi Won’t Race Again This Year

Rossi Argentina 25 2

It’s official — Marc-Antoine Rossi’s 2025 season is over before it ever really got going. The young French talent’s year ended prematurely right after the opening round of the MX2 World Championship.

After injuring his knee during his rookie MX2 campaign last year, Rossi underwent surgery once at the time and again over the winter, coinciding with his move from the De Carli GasGas squad to the Red Bull KTM factory team. He managed to line up only at the season opener in Argentina before disaster struck again — a shoulder injury sustained in training just ahead of the second GP in Cózar, Spain.

Following shoulder surgery, Rossi eased back into racing with an appearance at the Elite MX2 finale in Rauville-la-Place, where he finished 2nd overall. But his full return to the MXGP paddock never happened as the shoulder pain avoided it.

This week, Rossi announced on social media that he will need yet another operation to address his injuries, officially ending his season.

«It is hard to accept this season is finished, I’ve so much more to prove. I have to do another surgery to fix my knee and my shoulder also isn’t 100% better so it’s better to be good before going back to the GP’s. It’s been two hard years with two big injuries and not so much time on the bike but we keep the head up. I’m not done and the best is coming.»
