The current WMX World Champion has suffered a tough injury while training in the United States.
In recent days Lotte Van Drunen was training at the MTF (Millsaps Training Facility) in Cairo, Georgia, with the aim of defending the women’s Supercross and Motocross titles at the Gatorback Mini O’s that will begin this Saturday, November 23.
But yesterday, during one of the training sessions, the Dutchwoman fractured her ankle in 3 parts after a bad landing. This situation has ruined her plans, so she is already flying home waiting to undergo surgery.
“Unfortunately back home, very disappointed! I broke my ankle in 3 places yesterday afternoon. After the X-ray we were immediately able to take the first plane back, now waiting for surgery. I am so sorry for the great team NSA Factory Yamaha team who was having me, thanks for all the good care and trust. Big thanks to MTF MX for your quick action and good care! Thank you Monster Energy for bringing me home this quick. Also thanks to Fox Moto and Yamaha Racing Official for all the help.“
The first round of the Women Motocross World Championship will take place on April 6th at Riola Sardo, this means she has plenty of time to recover.
