The second round of the ACU British Motocross Championship takes place this Sunday, April 5, at Preston Docks, featuring a significantly stronger lineup boosted by the presence of five-time world champion Jeffrey Herlings.
Oriol Oliver (GabrielSS24 KTM) arrives full of confidence after securing his best-ever moto result in MXGP, a key boost as he targets the red plate this weekend. The Spaniard currently sits second in the standings, tied on points with Ben Watson (DirtStore Triumph), after the two split moto wins in the opening round at Hawkstone Park.
Just behind them, reigning champion Conrad Mewse (Crendon Tru7 Honda) is third, only nine points off the lead and firmly in contention. Adding further intrigue to an already tight fight is the Herlings factor, with his entry bringing an extra layer of unpredictability to the motos.
In MX2, the battle is even closer from the outset. Gyan Doensen leads the standings by just three points over Charli Heymann, while reigning champion Tommy Searle (DirtStore Triumph) will be looking to bounce back after a quiet start that leaves him seventh overall.
