The reigning 450SX champion will remain with AWM Fulfillment PMG Suzuki Progressive/Cycle Gear for another season as he looks to defend his crown. The new deal covers AMA Supercross only, meaning his participation in the Pro Motocross Championship remains uncertain.
While it may have seemed like an almost certain announcement, Ken Roczen’s future was not entirely settled. After claiming his first 450SX AMA Supercross title in 2026 with an epic finale at the final round, capping off one of the biggest comebacks of his career, many fans expected the German to line up with the #1 plate in 2027. However, the possibility of retiring on a high or contesting a handful of races as a farewell tour had also been among the scenarios considered.

Now, much to the delight of his fans, Roczen has decided to continue for another season and renew his contract with AWM Fulfillment PMG Suzuki Progressive/Cycle Gear. The new agreement specifically covers his participation in AMA Supercross, meaning that, for the time being, he is not expected to compete in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, apart from the possibility of a few selected appearances.
With Roczen’s renewal, PMG Suzuki further strengthens a lineup that already features newcomer Justin Barcia for 2027. Jason Anderson is also expected to remain with the team, potentially giving the squad a three-rider lineup packed with premier-class experience for the upcoming season.
Roczen’s contract extension, combined with Barcia’s arrival and Anderson’s expected return, could also close another potential door for Chase Sexton. The former Kawasaki rider had been linked to Suzuki following his recent departure from Monster Energy Kawasaki, but the team’s current situation makes that possibility increasingly unlikely.
With just over two months remaining before the start of the championship, the 2027 rider market continues to take shape, and Sexton’s available options are becoming increasingly limited. Meanwhile, Roczen has a clear objective ahead: defend his first 450SX AMA Supercross title and wear the #1 plate once again.
