Team GSM has become the second squad to announce its full WSX rider lineup for the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), confirming the return of Greg Aranda and the arrival of Lucas Imbert for the coming season. Meanwhile in the SX2 class they will have Maxime Desprey and Julien Lebeau.

WSX: ARANDA & IMBERT

Greg Aranda #20: Aranda joined Team GSM’s WSX program in 2023 and emerged as one of the championship’s most consistent competitors as one of only six 450cc riders to secure overall top 10 finishes in each WSX round last season.

For his third season in WSX, the Frenchman is hoping to match the highs of his debut campaign, while also leading Team GSM to new heights after tasting immense success in Europe.

“I’m excited to be returning to the WSX grid for 2024. Last year we were able to piece together a very consistent season, and finishing inside the top 10 every round was vital to our championship performance. Consistency is going to play a massive role again this year, and if we can settle into a good run, we should be able to push for even better results. I’ve achieved a lot with Team GSM already in 2024, and with Lucas [Imbert] alongside me, I think we’ll be able to surprise a lot of people.”

Lucas Imbert #72: Having joined the French outfit earlier in 2024, Lucas Imbert is a familiar face to everyone at Team GSM already but will be a rookie in WSX this season. Imbert has already proven his raw talent and speed on two wheels as the 2022 ADAC Supercross SX2 vice-champion, while also placing third in the 2021 French National MX2 Championship and the 2022 French Supercross SX Tour SX2 series.

“Joining WSX for 2024 marks a big step forward for me in my career, and I’d be naïve if I said that my rookie season won’t be without its challenges. But I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got, and racing alongside Greg [Aranda] in a super competitive field will give me an opportunity to learn, grow, and race against some of the biggest and best names in Supercross. Team GSM has been incredibly supportive since I joined earlier this year, and I’d like to thank them for giving me this chance. I can’t wait to show what I can do when we start racing in Vancouver.”

SX2: DESPREY & LEBEAU

French duo Maxime Desprey and Julien Lebeau will race for Team GSM in the upcoming 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) season by joining the series’ SX2 250 class.

Maxime Desprey #141: Desprey, who hails from France’s Burgundy region, is a familiar face in WSX and has been a consistent participant with Team GSM since the championship’s inaugural campaign in 2022. Earlier in 2024, Desprey was a dominant force in the French Elite Motocross Championship to claim his third MX1 title, securing five wins and 10 podiums across the 12-race season. Also, he won the SX2 title in the French SX Tour series for the fourth time in his career.

“I’m excited for what will be my third season in WSX with Team GSM. We’ve built a very strong relationship together over the past few years, and after a competitive run in 2024 with both the French MX1 and French SX2 championship titles, I think we’re in a good position for the WSX SX2 season. Although Vancouver and Perth are new circuits, the fact that we’re returning to Abu Dhabi puts me in a good position because the Etihad Arena was one my best track last year. I’m feeling confident, I’m feeling prepared, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Julien Lebeau #250: The Frenchman will be one of this season’s rookies in WSX series. Despite this, Lebeau is a proven rider and as a three-time German Supercross SX2 champion, will be looking to make an impact alongside Desprey when the 2024 season gets underway.

“Joining the WSX SX2 grid with Team GSM is a big opportunity for me, and after some success in Europe, I’m looking forward to racing on the world stage. Maxime is a seasoned rider – one of the best in France – so racing alongside him will be a fantastic opportunity for me to learn and grow. I’ve been working hard, and I’m ready to give the season everything I’ve got.”
