GP Highlights: Renaux and Benistant topped the MXGP of Switzerland

MXPG Switzerland 2023, Frauenfeld Rider: Renaux

Frenchman duo and Monster Energy Yamaha Factory riders Maxime Renaux and Thibault Benistant prevail in the third round of the MXGP World Championship at Frauenfeld.

Maxime Renaux won the second moto in order to take the overall against race 1 winner Jorge Prado, who went third in the final race. Romain Febvre filled the podium with 3-2 results in each race. Rounded the top five were Jeffrey Herlings and Calvin Vlaanderen. Both Dutchman rode in solid, but couldn´t match the speed from the top 3. Same for Spaniard Ruben Fernandez who came in sixth overall.

Valentin Guillod was the best of his countrymen with seventh overall results. On the other side, Jeremy Seewer had a rough day with a huge crash in the first race finishing twenty, and then he saves some points with a fifth for eleventh overall.

In the MX2 class, Thibault Benistant broke Jago Geerts’s dominance with 4-1 results, enough to grab the top spot on the podium against the unregular performances of Jago Geerts (6-3) and Roan Van de Moosdijk (1-8), neither of them finished on the podium. Instead, Andrea Adamo and Kay de Wolf were second and third overall respectively.
