After dominating the 44th annual AMA Amateur Loretta Lynn’s Nationals — where he clinched both the 250 Pro Sport and Open Pro Sport titles by winning five of six motos — Enzo Temmerman has now closed his amateur chapter with another big result. The Team Green Kawasaki rider took the overall victory at the final SMX Next Moto Combine at Ironman, Round 9 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
This win didn’t come in the same runaway fashion as Loretta’s. Temmerman claimed the overall via 2-2 moto scores, while Caden Dudney and Landen Gibson split the individual moto wins. Gibson’s 6-1 finishes placed him second overall, while Fauser’s 5-4 consistency secured third.
MOTO 1: Carson Wood grabbed the early lead and looked strong until a mistake caused him to slide out, handing the top spot to teammate Caden Dudney. Temmerman stayed glued to Dudney’s rear fender until the checkers but couldn’t find a way past. After his crash, Wood dropped to fifth, then battled Deacon Denno for third, eventually reclaiming the position.
MOTO 2: The second moto began with McKayden Fitch and Landon Gibson out front, chased by Temmerman and Denno. By mid-lap, Denno took the lead, holding it for three laps before Temmerman moved into first. Behind them, Yamaha teammates Dudney and Wood faced poor starts and were forced to charge through the pack. In the closing laps, Gibson caught and battled with Temmerman, swapping the lead before finally breaking away to take the moto win. Temmerman crossed the line second, with Landon Hartz making a late pass to claim third.
