The first night of racing in the 39th edition of Dortmund Supercross it occurred on Friday Night. It was a great night for Frenchman talents as they filled the podium in both classes with Maxime Desprey and Jordi Tixier topping their respective classes.
In SX1, Thomas Ramette took the early lead and was at the front for 7 laps until Jordi Tixier made a key pass over the whoops to take the lead. From there now, the KMP Honda rider never looked back. Meanwhile, Ramette started to drop to 9th place. On the contrary, Cedric Soubeyras and Greg Aranda were both on the move charging from the middle pack to second and third respectively. The top 5 was filled with another pair of Frenchmans: Adrien Escoffier and Boris Maillard.
In the SX2 class, it was a one-man show with Maxime Desprey taking a wire-to-wire win. Behind him, Calvin Fonveille and Yannis Irsuti claimed second and third after climbing some spots in the process. Local hero Nico Koch was the best German rider of the night as he finished 5th after battling for the first spots at the beginning of the race.
