Chase Sexton Ruled Out of Daytona at the Last Minute
Monster Energy Kawasaki has announced that Chase Sexton will not compete in Round 8 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship in Daytona after sustaining injuries to his hip and lower back while preparing for the event.
At this stage, the exact severity of the injuries has not been specified, and it remains unclear whether there is any risk of an extended absence. The team’s official statement did not provide additional details regarding a recovery timeline.
Sexton currently sits fifth in the championship standings and holds one victory this season — earned at Anaheim 2 in Round 3 — which remains his only podium finish so far. Since then, his campaign has focused on refining bike setup, producing consistent results of fifth, seventh, fifth, and sixth.
The Kawasaki rider’s withdrawal adds to another notable absence this weekend: Jorge Prado, whose medical condition will also keep him sidelined. More details on the Spaniard’s status are available in the related update.
