The Monster Energy CDR Yamaha team is set to mount a three-rider attack on the 2025 Australian Supercross Championship, which kicks off on October 11 at Redcliffe in Queensland.
With Jed Beaton still sidelined as he recovers from a broken femur, the team will field a strong line-up with Aaron Tanti, along with US imports Phil Nicolette and Mitchell Harrison, to contest the five-round series.
Tanti comes into the championship with a clean bill of health and plenty of preparation behind him after returning from injury earlier than expected.
He explained that being disciplined during recovery allowed him to get back on the bike sooner, and that paid off with race time at the final ProMX rounds. “I got back on the bike about a month earlier than expected, so I was able to get the last couple of rounds of ProMX which was good to get the competitive juices flowing again,” he said.
Since then, his focus has shifted fully to supercross. “We are racing the 2026 model YZ450F and testing has gone extremely well as the team were able to fine tune the bike to my liking quickly. Dialling the bike in meant I have just been able to focus on getting my laps in, increasing my speed and fitness and getting plenty of bike time under my belt. I’m looking forward to finishing the year off strongly and hope the crowds come out to enjoy supercross.”
Fresh from success in the Canadian Motocross Championships, Phil Nicoletti will return to Australia to contest the entire series with CDR Yamaha. Fans will remember his cameo in last year’s Melbourne round aboard a 250cc for Yamalube Yamaha, but this season he’s back on a 450 and ready to take on the nation’s best.
Mitchell Harrison rounds out the CDR Yamaha roster and arrives with a season’s worth of AMA Pro Motocross and Supercross under his belt. A consistent top-20 finisher in the US, the 2025 series will mark his first time racing in Australia.
The 2025 Australian Supercross Championship begins with a double-header at Redcliffe on October 11–12 before moving through Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide to round out the five-round season.
