After an excellent season in the 125cc category in 2023, the brand new 125cc world champion has decided to join forces with the Bud Racing Kawasaki team to move up to the next category, the EMX250 European Championship.
Always with a view to developing young people at the highest level, it seemed logical for Stéphane Dassé to sign the young Frenchman, after he had made the grand slam in the French 125 championship by winning all the rounds in his category. Currently second in the EMX125 European Championship after winning three events, the 17-year-old from Vendée will be coached by Thierry Van Den Bosch and will move to the Landes this winter to train with the Team and prepare for his 2024 season as well as possible. With the main objective of the European EMX250 motocross championship, it will above all be a year of learning for Mathis who will also participate in the French Elite MX2 championship and other prestigious events.
Stéphane Dassé: “We are very happy and eager to work with Mathis for the coming seasons. Mathis is a motivated youngster who has done great things this year after working with Valentin Teillet in Team 737 Performance. He remains open to all disciplines such as Supercross, Motocross or Sand, that’s what I liked when I spoke with him. he can surprise us next year.”
Mathis Valin: “I can’t wait to come and live in the Landes to work. The team is involved in several disciplines and I really liked that. The team seems very close-knit and family-oriented and I think that’s fine with me push upwards. In addition, Thierry will be able to advise me and help me to make the transition to the 250 as smooth as possible. See you soon on the team’s Kawasaki!”
