BREAKING: Calvin Vlaanderen to Miss the MXGP of Switzerland

Back-to-back podiums for Vlaanderen

Calvin Vlaanderen will not attend the 17th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, due to a minor knee injury.

Vlaanderen injured his left knee in a first-turn crash during the opening race of the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend. Although he managed to finish the race, he was unable to line up for Race Two.

Following a thorough assessment, the 28-year-old Dutchman has been advised to take a minimum of 10 days of rest before returning to racing. Vlaanderen sits 4th in the standings, a back-to-back podium in the double-header round in Indonesia has been his best results so far this season.

On the other hand, his teammate Maxime Renaux returns after withdrawing from the second round of the season in Madrid, Spain, to undergo another operation on his problematic right foot.
