The stage is officially set for this weekend’s Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship presented by Monster Energy, with riders and teams hitting the track today at Sharks Stadium in Cronulla ahead of tomorrow night’s packed-out Sydney showdown.
In the SX1 class, Dean Wilson (Honda) leads the series after a perfect start, winning all four main events during the Redcliffe double-header. The Scotsman holds a 16-point lead over his French teammate Cedric Soubeyras.
Meanwhile, Luke Clout (Penrite Empire Kawasaki) showed strong pace in the opening round, but two crashes on the second night at Redcliffe dropped him to ninth in the standings, now 48 points adrift with three rounds remaining. It would take a miracle for Clout to stay in title contention after this Saturday.
