The 2024-25 AMA Arenacross series kicked off this Friday, December 16 in Reno, Arizona. It was a perfect night for MCR Honda Vince Friese who topped each session. First, Friese set the fastest lap time on qualifying, and then he win the heat as well as the two Main Events as well. Reigning champ Kyle Peters (Phoenix Honda) went 2-2 for second overall, and Rock River Yamaha Michael Hicks rounded the podium via 3-4.
The action will continue Saturday night with Round 2.
In Main Event 1, arenacross veteran Kyle Bitterman suprise the field by taking the holeshot. However, his time at front was short-lived as Vince Friese made a quick pass for the lead, as well as reigning champ Kyle Peters for second place. Peters tried to stick Friese but the MCR Honda rider quickly pulled from the Phoenix Honda rider.
Rock River Yamaha´s Michael Hicks worked his way to get third. Bitterman and Robbie Wageman rounded the Top 5. On the other hand, Ryan Breece had a DNF.
Main Event 2 was a similar story. Once again, Bitterman got the holeshot before Friese and Peters passed him in the first laps. Friese keep Peters at bay for the rest of the laps until the checkered flag. Meanwhile, Breece got some redemption with a third place. The Top 5 were rounded by Michael Hicks and Bitterman.
